Hemalatha
The Crime Branch arrested Ms. Hemalatha from her house at Karamana. She was taken from there to the Cantonment Women’s Police Station.
Hemalatha, an officer of the Dhanalakshmi Bank is the seventh accused in the Total 4 U financial fraud case.
The Crime Branch had found that she had five accounts in various banks and the transactions were made through these banks. She told the investigating officials that Rs.20 lakh of the Rs.1.5 crore withdrawn from the bank was commission given by the financial fraud suspect Sabarinath.
The accused also admitted to the investigating officers that it was she who advised Sabarinath on financial matters and that Total 4 U received business worth crores of rupees through her.
Sabarinath had gifted a new BMW car to Hemalatha’s daughter Lakshmi Mohan, an airhostess with Air India Express.

The Crime Branch has commenced steps to freeze the bank accounts of the other accused Rajan, Bindhu Mahesh, Bindhu Suresh, Hemalatha and Chandramathi.
