DNA is unique from person to person but the same from cell to cell in one person can be a handy thing, especially when it comes to DNA fingerprinting.

Like the fingerprints that came into use by detectives and police labs during the 1930s, each person has a unique DNA fingerprint
  • In 1987, British baker Colin Pitchfork was the first criminal caught using DNA fingerprinting
  • DNA Fingerprinting, method of identification that compares fragments of deoxyribonucleic acid DNA It is sometimes called DNA typing.
