Call to Service’ honors Carson
During her time at UNC, former Student Body President Eve Carson motivated her classmates with her passion for community service and her random acts of kindness.In her memory, student government’s Service North Carolina committee, in conjunction with the Office of the Chancellor, is issuing a month-long “Call to Service” to the student body today.“We want everyone on campus to make a collective effort,” said Hogan Medlin, a member of the service committee. “Eve was always about bringing people of all walks of life together for a common goal.”The service committee will hold a remembrance ceremony at 4 p.m. today in the Pit, which will last about half an hour. Today marks the one-year anniversary of Carson’s death.At the conclusion of the ceremony, Chancellor Holden Thorp will give a statement calling upon students to serve their community in honor of the former student body president.
